Young Artist Program



In the summer of 2012, OASIS held its first Young Artist Program in beautiful Sarasota, Florida!  For two weeks, emerging opera singers took part in an intensive workshop to enrich their knowledge and experience in performing opera, operetta, musical theater, and a few lighter works.

Study culminated in varying performances of staged scenes, salon concerts, a benefit concert for animals, and a lighter evening of selections.


 Each YAP will include:

  • Private voice lessons with Sparrow or Locke

  • Private coachings with renown coach accompanist

  • Master Classes with well-known artists, composers, agents, or other professionals

    Mozart / Rossini Recitative Class

  • Acting Classes

  • Diction and Language Class

  • Round table discussion about singing as a business

  • Stage movement and bodywork for singers

  • Staging of scenes for performance

Fee includes several meals and in-home stay. Participants must provide own musical scores and transportation. Scholarships are available. Application includes completed form, fee, and recording via mp3, CD or DVD
